HP Laptop BIOS Installation Error "BIOS_U~1"
When I tried to install the BIOS update notification from the HP Support Assistant program, a warning window of "BIOS_U~1" appeared.
There is not enough free disk space to complete the System
BIOS and Device Firmware update operation. Delete some
files to free disk space then retry again.
What? I have enough disk space right now, so why am I getting this warning? The reason this warning appears is because the 'Recovery Partition' is full.
After running the 'Disk Management' program and checking the disk capacity status, you can see that the 'Recovery Partition' capacity is 100% full.
In the end, the method to solve the BIOS installation error is simple.
Just create an 'HP Recovery Partition' using the USB memory stick left at home.
I plugged the MicroSD card I had left at home into my laptop.
Then, run the HP BIOS Update program. Check the 'Create Recovery USB flash drive' toggle and click 'Next' to proceed.
Then, you can see that a new volume name of HP_TOOLS has been written to the memory card. Now, you can proceed with the BIOS update while keeping the USB memory plugged in.
